  1. If you have an existing CNAME record for the www subdomain, delete it.
  2. Click on Add to create a new record.

  4. For the Name, enter www.
  5. For the Value, enter shops.myshopify.com.
  6. Leave TTL on default and click Save.

Adding an A Record

  1. Click on Add to create a new record.
  2. Choose A as the type.
  3. For the Name, enter @.
  4. For the Value, enter the IP address provided by Shopify (it will be in the tutorial description).
  5. Click Save.

 

Step 4: Verify Your Connection in Shopify

Once you've added the necessary DNS records, go back to Shopify and

  1. Click on Verify connection.

  2. Shopify will check if it can connect to your domain. This should happen almost instantly.

Once the connection is verified, you must set your new domain as the primary domain for your store, and here are the steps to do so:

  2. Click on it and select Change domain type.

  3. Set it as the Primary domain.
